Storms of Life. It appears as if the sun is covered in the storms and when the storm breaks, the sun springs forth. The reality is, the Son is always present, it's the storms that pass.
What is the pain in your life brining to the surface of your heart and mind?
We all have pain of some kind and it hurts whether we admit such to others or keep it to ourselves. When we share in the Rawness of our pain, we deepen intimacy with humanity and create unity, as we become more relatable with each other. When we avoid the reality of the pain we suffer and stuff it away, we become more isolated and in turn, create separation. #OpportunityINPain ELC
When we see people fail, fall, struggle--make bad choices, display bad behaviors...
Laughing at them, condemning them, judging them, lying about them, gossiping about them...is not love. It's arrogance and pride. Such promotes hate.
One day, you will inevitably be in the position of the one you so harshly judge, as we are all human, we all make mistakes, we all meet pressure in our lives at one time or another that we can't possibly handle on our own, especially when the pressure is compounded, relentless, and in long durations with no break or no help. #Pray ELC
Have you been through your entire life without one single season of trouble? Have your choices always been ones that if captured on video or photo, would paint you in a positive light? We are all human, we make mistakes, we make bad choices, we make good choices - we have moments that we are proud of the world knowing about and ones we wish that even God could not see. How about we send loving energy, prayers, mercy to each other rather than judgment and criticisms? Lets pray for each other, whether it's people we see in the media or our best friends, or those who are our families, even for those who are our enemies. #ChooseLove ELC
For the New Year –
Let it Go
When we let something “go” – or turn it over to God, we are not giving up on whatever it is (i.e., a dream, hope for healing, for relationships to turn around for the better, for increase in finances, for business opportunities to manifest, for our behaviors to change, for the behaviors of others to change, for vindication or reconciliation…)
When we let “it” go and turn “it” over to God, what we let go of is the frustration, worry, toil, stress, strife, fretting, anxiety, anger, sadness…that comes along with whatever “it” is.
When we have done all we can, all we know to do…we need turn “it” over to God. Release “it” to Him and He will go to work on our behalf in greater and more awesome ways than we could ever do in our own human strength and with our own human intelligence and limited power.
When we let “it” go, it doesn’t mean its not going to happen – it simply means we are trusting God to work ALL out for our best, and in His perfect timing.
My prayer for us all in this New Year; let “it” go.

In life, you won't always win as society defines. However, if your heart is humble, you win every time in the only way that matters.
Are you blessed? If you're answer is "no", check again. Check on what you think about. Check on where your focus resides. What you think about most, what you focus on most, will result in more of the same. Choose to acknowledge your blessings, focus on them. More blessings will follow. ELC
Recalling the Good
Recall the good things God has done in your life, even today. Think about the pity parties we have when we do something "good" for someone and we don't get the acknowledgment or praise we feel we deserve or want. Imagine how many good things God gives that go completely unacknowledged.
We tend to overlook His protection, provision, mercy...gifts given through others, etc. We tend to focus in an amplified manner, on all that is wrong; on all we do not have; on our pain and suffering.
Shift your meditations and the words you speak out-loud to ones of thanks to Him for all He has done and continues to do for you and in you; and, all around you on a daily basis.
Amplify Gods goodness in you and to you. Give Him the acknowledgement and praise He is due. Your life from within will transform for the better. ELC
We as humans need to stop tearing each other down. We need to start building each other up. If relationships are too volatile or painful to do so directly, then do so in your heart and in prayer. Whatever the avenue, share love, nonetheless. ELC
Even in the midst of impossible circumstances, utter loneliness, dreams crushed and shattered, talents and gifts largely on a shelf gathering dust, unspeakable pain, diseases and genetic deficiencies with no known cure, relentless debilitating symptoms, duration of all being so long and incredibly intense; false judgements, exhaustion from it all that the human language cannot come close to describing....there is, nevertheless, so much to be thankful for. The roof over my head, food in the frig, being loved, loving others, the cool temperature today, the red bird that showed up when i looked out the window this morning, having a voice to share love and faith, the undying hope that resides within my heart, the dreams i have to help the world to live in love, the ways i am able to give to others from this bubble of life where i need to live at this time, for Jesus Christ being my Lord and Savior.... there are so many blessings even when we think we have nothing left within ourselves or no purpose in our lives, even when our whole world is constricted to four walls alone the majority of the time, there remains much to live for - much to be thankful for -- many reasons to praise God. We simply need to choose to see and acknowledge the blessings from within us and those that are all around us - everyday - all the time.
What are you thankful for?
Love, light and grace to you all.

Calm yourself to stillness… what do you hear?
Do the words whispered in your heart portray the landscape of the life you desire?
How is what you are hearing different from what you long to be?
What do you speak out loud about yourself, about your life? Is such in line with your hearts desire of who you long to be? Of what you want your life to represent? As an echo sends back to us what we speak out, so is life. Choose your spoken words with utmost care.
We are each in a continual process of becoming everything we were Created to be. Until we reach the end of this human journey and our final destination, heaven (for those belonging to God), we will be in a process of growth. In the meantime, how we live is a choice completely up to each individual. As an individual, you can choose to live defeated and speak out about all of your flaws, weaknesses, unfair situations, rejections, lack…or, you can choose to confess out loud all of who and what you desire to become. It is not enough to think what you want to become, you must decide to speak it as if you already are.
As you speak out loud what you desire to become, something changes on the inside. The breath of God illuminates all He created us to be and do. We begin to change the frequencies within our cells and break generational curses, negative mind-sets, defeated attitudes that were passed down our family line and even those we created ourselves.
No matter what obstacles, challenges, limitations, sin, weaknesses, lack…you are living today, you have the power within to create a life of Love. As an echo sends back exactly what you speak out, decide today that from this moment on, you will speak only Love out into the universe. Be amazed at what comes back to you; stand in awe at how your life will change from within; watch as the power from within that you exude outwardly, changes not only your life…witness how such transforms the lives of each of those around you and in the reach of the Love you send out.
When you align your internal compass and the words you confess out of your mouth, with those of Love, the echo that comes back will transform even the darkest, most painful suffering, injustices and trials to the light of Love.
Whether or not you have children of your own or are a lone soldier, every decision you make has great effect on those within the reach of your life. We each hold the responsibility for what we bring to ourselves, and what we bring and leave to this world. You have the power to leave a legacy of Love to this world.
What echo will you put out to come back to you and therefore, all others within the reach of your presence?
listen and hear what is being reverberated and decide to speak out your highest potential towards Love. Change your inner world. Change the world universally. Leave a legacy that echoes excellence, integrity, humility, fortitude, …and Love.
You Think You’re Tough?
Do you think you're tough?
Do you realize what tough means? What strength really is?
What temptation have you faced and not given into? Jesus faced temptations we will never meet in our life-time, and He stood, not giving into them. That’s what tough is, that’s what strength defines. If we do not have temptations, meaning, if we just do as we please, giving into whatever blissful moment that comes our way or that we seek, we are not tempted – we are not tempted because we are numb to there being a temptation when we do as we please. Our inherent ‘bad’ that lies within each human is therefore unknown.
When we start to feel convicted in our hearts regarding the choices we make, the behaviors we choose, our weaknesses, our sin, then our inherent ‘bad’ that lurks within each human, is brought to the surface. Only then are the choices before us temptations. When we do not see anything wrong with the choices we make or the behaviors we choose – we are blind to the areas we need to improve – and blind to there even being a temptation.
Jesus faced temptations of every kind; He knew they were temptations, as He was without sin. He stood in the face of the temptations and did not give in to them. He was pure. He lived in truth.
If you were faced with purity of that kind, with truth, would you still stand? Would you fight the temptations and deal with the inherent bad you house as a human?
How tough are you, really?

(Excerpt from Hanging On by the Scratch Marks My Nails Left Behind: Raw Faith).
All of life has at least a shadow to it. If we don’t look at this life in the context of what is to come, the sadness and emptiness of this life will consume us to true non-existence. The hope is in what’s to come, not in what is. This life is a transition – a passing into the next – higher existence that we journey on towards. As we pass through each life, we choose to live and step higher and higher to reach what goes beyond the dream of surreal, transitory life to True life with Him, where the power and Love of the Spirit within us come forth in all of the realness of what is the only Truth. For until we reach such oneness with and in Him, we continue in this dream of life that carries us ever upward where we reach the one True and pure hearts desire we were created with and for – to desire him only. One reached, we truly begin to live beyond the dream where tangible life replaces the surreal and what we truly are – we have then become.
Until we become what we were created to be and until we reach True life, glimpses of what is beyond the dream of this life give meaning and realness to what will be, which propels us ever upward and motivates us to continue on in seeking the realness of life we all desire – consciously or unconsciously – existing in every being.

I heard a sermon preached about rockets taking off relating to our life of faith. This sparked thought from my heart about my own life and the things I use my energy for and where my focus tends to go. We each have a divine destiny if we belong to God. God uses the circumstances of life to serve as a training ground to equip us with all that is necessary to fulfill our divine purpose.
There are key moments in our lives where God wants to take us to a new level of greatness, for His glory. However, many times we are the hindrance to receiving the blessings He has in store to give. Distractions of life too often become our focus. Such consumes our energy, our time, our resources and therefore, our ability to receive the blessings He is waiting to shower in and through us. When we choose to allow the distractions of life to take center stage, our divine purpose and destiny is put on pause.
When sitting in a rocket that is getting ready to launch… ones focus is on the task at hand, on the mission. The distractions of life have no place. The relationships that didn’t work out, the hurts from rejection, abandonment, illness, critics, slander, injustices in life; pains from family, friends, colleagues who worked to tear you down rather than build you up; those who didn’t believe in you or your dreams and did all they could to keep you in the box of their ideals that they felt comfortable with due to their own small thinking and shortcomings…the lack of praise, recognition, appreciation you deserved but didn’t get…the general lack you experienced, the losses of loved ones you may have suffered; the dreams that haven’t come to pass in the way you wanted or laid out for yourself; the vindication that hasn’t come yet, the financial exhausted…dwelling on any or all of these things is a distraction to fulfilling the purposes and the mission God created you for.
Imagine your life as you would imagine prepping for a rocket launch with you in the ‘drivers seat’. Imagine the preparation, the pruning, the endurance, the education; the wisdom needed, the vital level of humility, the focus necessary to learn all you needed to understand about how a rocket works, how to read the navigation instruments; the physical training necessary to withstand the G-forces of a rocket launch on your body; the mental preparation to think in a way that would serve the mission and the trust necessary to set your mind in the right place for such a launch; the spiritual furnace necessary to burn out all impurities so that you would know that as you go up in a rocket that defies gravity, that you would indeed return safely with your mission accomplished.
Imagine all of the training, hard work; expense emotionally, financially, mentally…required to get you to the place where you were actually ready and equipped to sit in the seat of that rocket and push the button to take off into space. Would you want to be in that seat with no preparation? With no knowledge or wisdom? With no self-control? With no measure or testing of faith for whatever may come as you lift off or as you go through the mission to completion? With no physical strength or mental stamina, clarity of thought, for the flight? No, you would no more get in a rocket, or be allowed to for that matter, without the proper training, practice, clearance, approval, for such a mission. Nor would you be permitted to get into that rocket and launch without eliminating all of the distractions, or with no support. Furthermore, you would not get in a rocket that wasn’t properly built, inspected, checked and re-checked for safety and proper function…nor would you go without a safety plan for mishaps that may be encountered on your mission…nor would you go alone.
You would not go through all of the prep, education, pruning, refining, grind, hard work, sacrifices…to get in the seat with the countdown going and then be pondering all of the hurt in your life, all of the things you do not have, all of the people who did you wrong, all of the things that were taken from you, all of the pain you may be suffering. Such would be ludicrous in light of sitting in the seat of a rocket, clothed in the equipment to take off, armed with the knowledge, wisdom and expertise to guide the rocket on the mission you trained for, alongside your team. No, your focus would be on the mission only…on last checks of your equipment, on the navigation of where you are headed and the reasons, on your team and all of the functions working together for the purpose of the mission, of the call. None of the other stuff of life would even be on the radar of your thoughts, actions or feelings. Your mission too important, the focus needed too vital to your very life and to that of your team and many others.
Such is a parallel to life. Your divine destiny, your mission that you were created for, is in your heart, it is in your power to fulfill, with God’s help. Everything you have been through up until this very moment, even your own mistakes, are all God preparing you to step into your divine destiny and to fulfill the purposes He created you for. You have to decide…are you ready for lift-off? Or are you going to choose to remain on the launch pad, engines rumbling, at a standstill, wasting fuel and time on distractions while your divine destiny awaits? Delaying blessings waiting to be delivered to you, and therefore many others as the ripple effect goes?
Leave the critics, the lack, the pain of losses, the disappointments, the suffering and all you could focus on that will keep you tied down…behind you, as you take off into another realm, into the land of divine power, energy, fulfilled purpose, abundant blessings and love.
Like a rocket taking off into space, the earth becomes a pin dot in view and eventually, not seen at all…the focus becomes new, onto where the rocket takes you… and your heart is filled with all of the things you encounter on your mission. All else is left behind.
Do not allow yourself to stay in 2012 or year’s prior. Leave all behind and move into 2013 in a self-choice to take only the training, growth, wisdom, humility, perspective, strength, love and those vital to your divine destiny with you into the New Year. Do not choose to stay on the launch pad with your engines rumbling, blessings delayed, divine destiny halted… any longer. Choose instead, to take off and soar, as you were created to do.
Your future, from this moment forward, is in your hands to determine. Your limitations are not your divine destiny. Your gifts, talents and abilities; your potential and the truth of who God says you are, and all that He created you to become, is. Make a decision to leave what you cannot control in the hands of the One who is well able; push the launch button and soar above the sky. Your divine destiny is waiting for you.

A Resting Place Prayer for Reese Franklin Harry, AKA, Uncle Franklin
The God who remembers. (Exodus 2)
Dear Precious Father God,
We come to You today to thank you for creating Franklin and setting him upon this earth during the time in history that You had him here for Your purposes. As Your timing for him to return to You in heaven for eternity has come, we trust that You have ushered him home with You safely and that he is now in full glory, breathing effortlessly. We thank You that he is in the love, joy and wholeness that You created him from. He pray and trust that he is safe in the arms of Jesus Christ, forevermore.
Uncle Franklin, we will see you once again, when God’s timing for each of us comes and we are ushered Home. Until then, we will rejoice in the privilege it was to be a part of your life, to be loved by you, and to have the honor of giving to you throughout our individual journeys with you.
A friend to all, a servant to Him; you gave of yourself in genuine love, as the action of love requires. From being a noble and honorable husband to Marcia Lorraine, to being a brother and friend to Eddie and Amelia; Forest and Norma; to being a beloved Uncle to Mark, Marcia, Melanie, Brad, Holly, Elizabeth, and Symon; to being a Great Uncle to Ashton, Lauren, Alicia, Eric, Robert, and Haley; and a Great Great Uncle to Hunter…your love was quiet yet ever present. You set an example for us all, to be of service to those in need, as you so graciously helped those in your life who needed care; as you walked with Norma for her cardio rehabilitation, stood by your wife through turbulent times, and most importantly, how you were kind to all.
My prayer today is that we can celebrate your life and just as God is the “God of Remembrance”, that we too, will recall our times together with love and set our focus there, taking the gifts we received from you and sharing them with others. Each one of us has unique memories with you from your time with us on this earth.
I thought about the eggnog you used to make on the Holidays and wished I had some the other day. I thanked God for the recent interactions we got to have and I feel blessed to have been given the opportunity to connect with you and to share some of our hearts with each other. I will cherish those memories until I see you again.
May we each focus on the love shared, and honor you by continuing on in life with kindness, service, and love. May we also incline our hearts and thoughts heavenward and be ever mindful that this life is not the end. For those in Christ, we have an eternal home in heaven. May we continue on our journeys keeping the things of eternity at the core of our choices and rejoice knowing that we will one day be reunited with you, and forever with Him.
I pray and trust that as you passed from this life to your eternal one, the Lord came with His angels to safely bring you on home to your heavenly mansion, created just for you. I pray that the promises in scripture: “*you have been redeemed and you are His…*your name is inscribed on the palms of Jesus Christ and *written in the Lambs Book of Life; *He makes all things new; *as humans we see in part but when at last with Him we will see and know in full…” all be manifest to you in full understanding now, whereas while in human form you had to trust them to be so with your eyes of faith; may your eyes of faith now be sight.
May you view the photo of yourself on the wall of Heaven, along with those who have gone before you. May you release any ties holding you here to this earth, and flow in the full and absolute freedom of heaven. May you hear the words from our Father, *“well done good and faithful servant”. May you rejoice with the King of Kings, Lord of Lords and Savior of your soul, as you release your human home and reach your final destination, your only true Home, where you have absolute citizenship.
I pray that you will sing with those who have gone before, and I pray that they will each be a part of your welcome party into heaven.
The God who remembers. He recalls your work on earth, for His glory, He remembers even the secret things you did in love that none other knows of. May you be crowned with every good gift the Father has for you and may you know *the peace that surpasses all understanding, in which He is.
There is no more struggle, sorrow or pain. I see you running free, whole, restored, in full joy and glory. TD Harry, running the full football field to the end -zone, fast as lighting, breathing clear as the breath of God.
The God who remembers… May we too, remember always, the gift of you in our lives.
Until we meet again, may you rest in peace, safe in the arms of Jesus Christ.
I love you Uncle Franklin.
In the name of the most High, Jesus Christ, I pray.

Becoming Truly Rich (c)
Elizabeth L. Chalker 11/24/2012
When we suffer unspeakable, relentless pain and impossibilities..when our lives have been taken by circumstances out of our control...when we are abandoned, rejected, slandered; in desperate need; beaten beyond recognition; when our pain is so deep, dark and refractory that even the plethora of words encompassing human language cannot begin to describe the experience...
We can still be of service to another...there is something in us still, that someone else needs...we can choose even in our own unspeakable life-travesties, to focus on the needs of another...to be of service..to extend encouragement, love, help...to someone else.
As long as there is breath going in and out of our lungs, we have something that someone else needs. We are still of value and worth. We still have meaning and purpose.
We each have a choice in every moment of each day. We can nurture a pity party - or - we can do all we know to help ourselves, leaving the details of the outcome to God and at the same time, show love to another.
What do you have that someone else needs?
What will you choose to do with it?
Search your heart.
Is your life only about you? If so, choose to make a change and in doing so, create a much richer life for yourself and another...and as the ripple effect goes, for many you may never meet.
Choose Love and change the world.

Staring out the window watching the birds in the freshly mowed field – all kinds frolicking and dancing in between the wind. The clouds look fierce in one direction and inviting in the other. Thunder gently rolls and the wind is whipping through the grass, leaves and branches that sway.
How there can be warm sunlight and a raging storm all in one glance is truly a paradoxical mystery. Such is the case within most of us. Our light always shines nevertheless; raging storms within seem frequently brewing.
The field that was growing wildly; the grass tall, branches that sprang from the ground, wild flowers, bushes… seemed to deter the birds, ducks, squirrels, and other live things. Now that the field has been mowed, these creations of the Fathers are feeding plentifully and many, as if the seeds were buried by the lush wildness of the grass, hiding what was beneath, squandering all that had been provided with its covering – though beautiful in it’s own right, strangling to the birds, ducks, and other wildlife that need the feed below.
We do the same, do we not? We each have within us ‘food’ for ourselves and others that the Lord planted within each of us; within each of His creations for purposes we will never come to meet in full fruition – nevertheless, will grow in expanding upon throughout our time here on earth – for our strength, growth, humility, and the like for others to feed from… also, in exuding His love as we journey…
When we are oppressed, hidden, silenced, shut up and shut off, covered with tortuous trappings and dishevelment of the world, our ‘food’ is locked away and we not only starve, the others meant to feast from our bounty go hungry as well.
When the muck is removed; when we are cleaned up, pruned if you will, the flourishing seed long hidden beneath takes bloom and summons our own being and others as a draw to the very food that had been hidden in the dark so long. As the Word says, He will give us treasures hidden in the darkness – He will give us beauty for our ashes. (Isaiah 45:3, Isaiah 61:3).
Fret not those who lay in ruin, for in due season the mower will present its engine on your turf and all that’s beneath the mire will come to the surface --- where all, including your own person, will feast and partake.
Job's Example - Our Life
copyright ©, 10/26/2010, Elizabeth L. Chalker.
An Excerpt from the book written by Elizabeth L. Chalker:
“Hanging On by the Scratch Marks My Nails Left Behind: Raw Faith”
In Chapters 1-3 of Job, the stage is set for Jobs’ journey of faith and love. The battle between heaven and hell, of good and evil. Satan and God dialoging about proving His servant Job faithful. The book of Job is not about suffering; it is instead about faith. As we read the book of Job we see that Job does not know what is happening yet those in heaven and hell do. They know the dialog from behind the scenes and know what is being played out, with Job as the battlefield. God knows how such will end. They see all parts of the story and how the drama unfolds, and they know what the story is about before Job’s seeming demise begins. Satan has a quest, to prove Job unfaithful. God has a plan, to show Satan wrong!
How our lives parallel Job’s in that heaven and hell know the story, while we walk in blind trust, that even in the deepest affliction, God has us, knows the beginning form the end, and knows much deeper and altruistically than we, the choices in the fire we will make. With the battle belonging to the Lord, and our parts cast to fulfill His love story, we continue on. When we cannot see His plan and we do not understand, and we find ourselves dwelling in a heap of ashes, we can nevertheless, trust Him. He really does have us and truly has a great purpose and plan for our lives. (Jeremiah 29:11).
When all seems lost and we understand least – are at our lowest and most vulnerable places – the ending of the story, the finish to the drama, the manifest healing and restoration, the redemption and blessings abundant…ALL are already done! They are just as real as the present moment we are experiencing – whatever that moment may be that we are meeting. We must use the book of Job as an illustration for Scripture in 2 Chronicles 20:15 that tells us our battle is not our own, rather it belongs to the Lord. Furthermore, that “we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12). Such evidence is seen also in the first three chapters of Job- where the exchange is between God and Satan. However, God is in control and is the only One in control, as Satan has to not only ask permission, moreover, has to receive permission granted to him by God to do anything at all to Job. We must remember that such is the case with us and in our lives if we are in Him. He is the only One in control – the only Author – the only Director of the drama called our life.
God already knew His servant Job’s choice and how he would remain faithful to Him. God the Victor, Satan the loser, even before the battleground of Job was used to play the drama out.
The book of Job then, the story of each of our lives, is about faith and is about Romance – God knows how we will respond to each and every instance and trial in our lives. He knows better than we do, better than Satan does, what we are made of.
God gave us free will not that we would have option to chose Him, instead that we may have the option to reject Him. Therefore, should we choose Him; we choose love in its truest form, and life eternal.
Power of Stillness

Isaiah 30:7 “Their strength is to sit still”
Psalm 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God”
Yes Lord – in stillness – the ‘power’ to deal does arise. Though chaos ensues and lingers about and trials mount to unceasing – vast measure; the mighty army surrounds me as described in Your word…that to my flesh, my humanness, would be cause to spring me to action – in order to combat, break down and simmer all that is upon me that I may prevail. All logic says to act – to fight – to confront – nevertheless, within me dwells the Holy Spirit who gently, yet firmly calls me to stillness – to surrender of overt works – instead to engage in the pursuit of basking in Your Spirit Lord Jesus Christ…that I may there – at such a place – find, meet, Zechariah 4:6,7 “Its not by might nor power but by my Spirit says the Lord”.
Such a place is where I find true peace and rest and where Your power is perfected through my weakness. The more quiet within I become – the clearer Your voice and direction I hear --- the deeper strength I gain --- the greater Your gift of faith within me manifests – the larger my yield to You, God to truly work ALL things together for good – and for You to fight for me – this life’s battle belongs not to me God – and is not my responsibility to fix or take care or conquer – it is Yours God – and Yours alone. My hands are off – I wait in You and trust You to take care of me ALL the days of my life – and in ALL things, as you promise In Jesus Christ’s Name – Amen. ______________________________________________________
The Flight Home
Copyright (c), July 1, 2011, Elizabeth L. Chalker
There was a storm all around us. We were submerged in the clouds and they were dark, fierce and yet soothing at the same time. In all the horrors, pain, impossibilities, gut wrenching physical illness, stress, trauma… and through a big struggle to speak at all, this song came to my heart:
"I will praise you in this storm" by Casting Crowns.”
As our flight continued and the initial loud sounds of jet engines tapered off, we found ourselves above the storms. It was dark now and the sky was pitch black – but the stars were vibrant and many. The clouds below – majestic in their beauty of lightning flashes illuminating the sky in gorgeous oranges, reds, pinks within the clouds from where they originated. We watched out the window in wonder. Peace ensued, as we ‘stopped’ for a moment and experienced what God must live, seeing all from ABOVE the storm that is our lives. He sees perfectly, as we got a tiny taste of riding above the storm on our way home. And what He sees in the storms we live; is spectacular, captivating, love and beauty.
In the midst of the storms we tend to see only the devastation, the pain, the heart-shattering; the darkness… and we strive, in the storm, to survive it, to go through it to get to the other side where the sun is shinning and there’s warmth…. we are blinded, if you will, by the clouds, the rain; and frightened by the boom of the thunder and the piercing brilliance and heat of the lightning… We can only see what’s right in front of us.
As our flight began, we were in a storm cloud. If the pilots had to depend on visibility out the window to steer our course, calamity would have occurred and we would have gotten no-where! They had to depend on other devices to ‘see for them’ – to guide them in getting us safely where we needed to go. Our lives are on a parallel. We are in a cloud, can’t see what’s next or the purpose in the thickness of the clouds, of which the denseness prevents light for the next step. We have to rely on our internal compass – on the Holy Spirit who dwells within each who belongs to God. Without such divine direction, we remain lost, afraid, and in the dark.
I want to share this hope given, in the midst of a raging, ever so painful, terrifying experience of the ‘flight home’ with you all. Rest assured, the view from above: Glorious, calming, peacefully mysterious, life giving, safe, secure, miraculous.
He truly IS in control. He IS on the throne. He genuinely has each and every one of us, in the palm of His hand and in the center of His heart. His IS the view from above.
All is well.

If YOU Were the Only One...

For God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not parish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
Jesus Christ became flesh, was persecuted, slandered, rejected, beaten, abandoned, mocked, tortured, falsely accused and crucified on a cross with murderers and thieves... He carried His cross and was then nailed to it -- and beaten-- and tortured further. He was blameless, without sin...perfect in every respect...He was and is what LOVE means. Guess who He had in mind as he became flesh, lived as a man, suffered every wrong against Him imaginable, carried EVERY sin...guess who He had in mind while He was being crucified, in the midst of laying dead in a tomb....YOU!!!
Jesus Christ had YOU in His mind and heart -- and If YOU were the only one in the universe, He still would have done what He did and suffered what we will never meet, no matter how deep, how long, how torturous our lives or circumstances may have been, may be, or may become...we will never suffer as He did.
Jesus Christ found YOU to be worth all of the suffering He endured. Jesus Christ; the Lord of Lords, King of Kings, Mighty Counselor, Healer, Physician, Savior, Father, says that YOU are worth Him becoming flesh and being crucified on a cross... YOU, yes, YOU, are who He died for.
He loves YOU.
He died for YOU.
That YOU may have eternal life and never know the sting of death's defeat...
All you need do is invite HIm into your heart to be your Savior, believe in Jesus Christ, God's Son, and eternal life is in heaven is yours. If you know Him already give Him praise and thanks!
Jesus Christ, the Holy One, says YOU are worth HIs love.
Remember Him on Saturday --- and every day. Remember what this season was born from and what it represents. His birth. Invite Him into every part of your life, always.
He died for YOU!!! If YOU were the only one in the universe, He would have still come.
Jesus Christ loves YOU.
Life’s Frailty and Strength

Breathing in and out…no one knows when the last time will be that such a life sustaining experience will cease. The One who holds the set time for our existence to be over here on this earth in human form does not share with His creation when our last breath will be. He does promise us eternal life with Him for eternity, should we choose to believe in His Son Jesus Christ and invite Him into our hearts as our Savior and Lord.
We hold on so tight to the things of this world that are ever so fleeting. We set expectations of ourselves and others and arrogantly take offense when such is not met to the measure we seek. We do so within ourselves, and about others. We condemn ourselves and judge others. The truth we would all do well to live: this life is but a moment on the screen of eternity. The breath you breathe in this moment may be your last. The breath you hear a loved one take in and release may be his or her last. Where do you wish for your focus to reside?
May we see Him in and through each and all, releasing all of our expectations of others and ourselves into His hands…to carry for us. May we yield to Him in and through, that we may fulfill all we are purposed to do and be while here in human form; for ourselves, for others, for the greater good…and all for His glory. Should we release all unto Him, the magnificence in others and ourselves we would meet, beyond any expectation we could hope to achieve in our own strength or false sense of control.
This next breath may be your last. The next breath of a loved one may be his or her last. How would you want the state of your relationships to be, with yourself and with all of those you have in your life – when that last breath comes? As you look in the mirror – as you look into the eyes of another – may I challenge you to see with your soul and proceed from there…for the next breath may be the one to change eternity for yourself or another.
I pray that we will walk out our lives in a way that our focus is on eternity…while we move out of the way and allow God to work in and through us, all He purposes for us to be while here on earth. We have the power to exude love, humility, and truth, if we so choose this strength of life given unto us. We never know when our last breath will be; lets make each one count for all that is now and everything that will be, for eternity.
In His love,
Elizabeth Chalker and Symon
